The reading acts as lure. We gather around it, committed to the text’s capacity not so much to pin down meaning as for meaning to diffuse, rippling the room with hints of thoughts to come. Their imperceptible sway, already felt, colours the room in advance of their taking form. The text is thinking itself out, becoming environmental. It is out-thinking itself, becoming extra-text, more ambiance than encapsulated content. We attune to the colour of the ambiance. Our bodies lean into the rhythm of the fielding of the lure. Together we reach for newly forming words, environmentally proposed. We call these buds of environmentally regenerating expression “textual feelers.”
